Here's where I ended up at the close of Train Night Monday. Note that the pad below the silos does not represent the entire base of the silo, since they extend well below ground on the prototype. It's merely a concrete apron on my particular prototype. The scalloped roof was made by using rail nippers, shown in the background, to methodically nip the 1/8" plastic to the correct shape as traced. It was actually easier to do well than I feared. I'll finish it off with filing. But it took the skin off four places of my hand in the form of blisters! A work glove is essential for this, I found, especially since I have another set that size to do. The only difference is that it's broken up into three sections, to accommodate the joints above the salt bin.
