Year: 1861
Type: Three Cent Silver
Variety: Type 3
Grade: PCGS MS 63
Mintage: 497,000
A blue-toned semi-prooflike example of the type three variety of the
three cent silver, this type is the lightest ever produced by the US
mint at only three quarters of a gram! A few hairlines account for
the grade, this example is well struck on the obverse and a bit
weaker on the reverse. Overall a flashy prooflike example with very
attractive toning.
This coin was purchased from Mark Feld. Thanks Mark!
