Year: 1803
Type: Draped Bust Half Cent
Variety: C-1
Grade: PCGS VG 10 (now raw)
Mintage: 92,000
The 1803 Half Cent had the second lowest mintage of all the Draped Bust Half Cents used in the
United States from 1800-1808. A neat example of the type, this draped bust half cent is the common
(R-1) C-1 variety. Well worn and a nice chocolate brown, all the details are visible. An area of
discoloration on the right obverse field and some roughness and verdergris on the reverse are both
noted. A nice raw coin that now lives in a Dansco type set album.
