You have probably noticed that there are a lot of photographs of roadside signs. The main reason for this is that there are a lot of signs. In addition, they seem to tell the story of the Mother Road. It must have been an exciting journey to go across the country on what was then a modern highway and be confronted with the myriad of neon signs lighting up the night and inviting you to stay with them, eat with them, shop with them, repair, gas up...etc.
