The Washington Monument was easily the most photographed subject during my trip to DC. Somehow this structure seems to capture my attention every time I glance at it. It's most probably because it's so tall and thus can be seen from more than a mile away.

I was fortunate enough to ride the elevator up to the top of the monument where there's a viewing area open to the public. There, I got a 360 degree view of the area surrounding the monument. The view was just unbelievable.
