Black and white vertical or horizontal lines represent the best possible case for a Bayer sensor. If you still have both cameras, try the same test with the charts on a 45 degree diagonal. If the SD1's performance is comparable to what I have seen from previous generations of the Foveon, it will blow the D3x away. Colored resolution charts also show the differences more clearly, though the above already shows the 15mp SD1 on par with the 24mp D3x. It also, to be fair, shows that Bayer sensors have come a long way in the last 10 years.
