The old One Tree Hotel, on the Cobb highway between Hay and Ivanhoe in outback New South Wales, was named after the solitary tree on the local plain around the hotel. The tree was the smallest timber reserve ever listed in Australia ! Mother Nature had the last word though, and the tree was blown down in a storm in 1900
