I believe I mentioned in the spring gallery that one of the Pelican images was a winner in the 2017 Great Nevada Picture Hunt sponsored by Nevada Magazine. Because it was the 40th anniversay of the contest, they did a separate judging of the same images and selected 40 photographers and over 40 images to be included in a poster shaped as the State of Nevada. This image was one of the winners for the poster. The magazine did a phenomenal job of blending the images together and it is roughly geographically correct, so this image is in the upper left of the poster.
