The day ended up being overcast gray, so the Pelican shots weren't that good. On the way back to the truck, I was lost in thought when I realized a small bird was running along the ground just a few feet in front. Turned out to be a Snowy Plover, a new species for me. This may be a young one, as I don't think I've ever had a small bird let me get so close before. I pretty much circled all around it while it fed and walked around.
