DSC_4274a.jpg

There are dozens, if not 100's, of wildlife guzzlers spread out over the state. These guzzlers store winter/spring water for the wildlife to have water during summer and fall. Tim has shown me outstanding images over several years of Desert Bighorn Sheep from multiple locations, but there are two east of Fallon that have been fruitful for him over the years. They are close enough for a weekend trip.

On this trip, I got there around 11 AM and saw sheep right away, but the light was too hard, so I didn't keep any images from the middle of the day. After a couple of hours sitting in the blind with nothing happening, I decided to get out and get dinner, then come back in late afternoon. In walking back, I spooked this Ewe and baby. They were just above the fenced area around the guzzler, and started rapidly uphill, but they didn't go far. I got in the blind and it didn't take long for them to work their way back down. Eventually, the Ewe actually jumped down into the compound around the guzzler.
