Female Canvasback Duck. My first image of these. This is the first of the images I got on Sunday morning. This is where we waded through ice covered water before sunrise. When the alarm went off at 4:15, I definitely was questioning the wisdom of getting out of the warm bag, and I suspect Tim was too. But Tim said it would be worth it, so we got up about 4:30 and were in the blind by 5:30. As you'll see in the following images, Tim was right about it being worth it. This is most likely the best day I've ever had photographing birds.
