I started out at 5:15 AM with my headdlamp on, with a goal to get above treeline to get a shot of the whole lake. I got up pretty high but hit a wall of manzanita I couldn't find a way around (and I was pretty pooped-out anyway), so turned around and had to settle for lake level images. This and the next image are composites of two images due to the wide difference in light between the sky and the shaded foregrounds.
