This is a composite of around 35 images using Helicon Focus software. The software selects the portion of each image that is in focus to make the composite. That way, you can overcome the minimal depth of field when using macro lenses and extension tubes for close-up images.
I used the lid of a popcorn canister as the base for this image. The large drop is a mixture of water and glycerin. The other drops are plain water sprayed from a bottle. I taped a large leaf to the back of the canister which gives it the color and some leaf detail in the drops. I originally thought the detail between the drops came from the veins in the leaf, but I determined it is from the canister lid.
