Lorton Yew

The Lorton Yew is mentioned in the Domesday Book, which is dated 1095. That alone makes the tree at least 1000 years old, probably much older. Amazingly, it isn't the oldest Yew in the Lake District.

Unfortunately, the right half of the tree was lost in a storm in the late 19th century, hence the lop-sided appearance.
