The gallows where Rudolph Höss, commandant of Auschwitz during it's 2 most deadly periods, was hanged. Höss was ordered to write his autobiography, by the British, during his captivity. As his execution drew near, Höss acknowledged his deeds, and that he had sinned gravely. He accepted that he would pay with his life.
