Hi Les, I have added a moon shot taken by HS10:

BTW, HX-1 ranges from 28mm to 560mm while HS10 ranges from 24mm to 720mm. If you need a camera with 24mm wide angle and 30x zoom, you have no other choice up till now.

Hi Les, Hong Kong has been covered by thick cloud in these two weeks and I could not see the moon at any nighttime. I will take the photo of the moon once the weather becomes better.

BTW, you may refer to my photos here to show the clarity and noise of HS10:

She's all pink!! With my Sony DSC-HX1 superzoom (20x) myself and other owners have found that the lowest ISO and the lowest aperture number, regardless of zookm position, give the sharpest shots. I/some of us, could see no real depth of field changes with the aperture settings. The Sony specs are pretty much the same as the Fuji and the Sony camera is relatively compact and light - ideal for travelling- but obviously all these cameras need far better lenses!

I think the best picture tests would simply be shots of the moon to show clarity and noise etc.

Enjoy it. Regards, Les.
