This used to be the garden, where the ladies of the court would come to sit around and, well, do whatever aristocrat-types do in gardens.
Then I started stalking this couple.
No picture can quite convey how steep these steps are. You walk towards this gap in the wall and keep expecting a flight of stairs to come into view, and you get closer... and closer... and just when you're convinced you must just be walking towards a sheer drop they come into sight.
I tried taking some starry pictures. I didn't have a tripod so the views are chosen more by what I could balance the camera on than anything else. They don't look that great at this resolution, but I swear one of them is like the Hubble Deep Field when you zoom in.
I do declare, it's a bit of the Plough!

A seagull who actually walked up to pose for me. Everyone wants to be a celebrity these days.
