Descending Into the Wine Cellar

Glen Foerd Mansion, Northeast Philadelphia, PA

Tradition has it that when you get married at the Glen Foerd Mansion, you must, after
taking your vows, make the required visit to the wine cellar to sample the dark red
vintages stored in the vaults. Images of Poe's Cask of Amontillado surely come to mind,
as you descend into the dark underground cellar with a slight chill in the air, reminding
you of the catacombs. Legend has it that if you sample the fine wines in the cellar, and
you find them not to be bitter or to have an aftertaste, you are destined to have a long,
successful, healthy and happy marriage. I understand that the bride and groom savored every
drop. More photos from the wine cellar will be posted soon. Stay tuned.
