I was very fortunate, while at MGM Studios to get a very good seat at the performance of Beauty and the Beast, only four rows back AND with little kids sitting in front of me, not obstructing my view. Of course the lighting for these performances really causes havoc on exposure and so I recommend shooting these scenes using a high iso (800) without a flash. Sitting four rows back, my 50mm f/1.4 was really quite ideal for capturing both group and individual scenes. A very enjoyable show.
