While visiting the North Shore of Lake Michigan, just north of Chicago and Evanston Illinois, I chanced,
traveling on Sheridan Road, upon the Ba'Hai Temple, and incredible structure in an extremely posh
residential neighborhood. In one of the gardens, near the entrance of this temple, I saw these unusual
flowers, a species that I had never seen before. Neither pretty nor enchanting, but certainly colorful and
weird. It reminds me, in a strange sort of way, of the Gorgon Medussa, so beautiful and yet so ugly, that
when men cast their eyes upon her, their bodies turned to stone. Now that's mythology.....at least as I
