La commune de Bozouls se trouve au centre-nord du département de l'Aveyron, dans la petite région agricole des Grands Causses.

La commune de Bozouls, appelée parfois « la porte du Haut Rouergue », est vaste. Sa superficie avoisine les 7 000 hectares. Elle appartient, dans son ensemble, au Causse situé au nord de Rodez. Le bourg a la particularité de s’être construit autour d'un canyon naturel, creusé par la rivière du Dourdou et qui fait penser à un site naturel fortifié. L'habitat s'est développé au bord des parois vertigineuses et occupe également le long promontoire où se dresse l'église romane de Sainte-Fauste. Ce site classé Espace naturel sensible peut en effet, grâce à son abîme impressionnant, le Trou de Bozouls, revendiquer l’une des toutes premières places parmi les curiosités naturelles de la région.


The commune of Bozouls is located in the north-central part of the Aveyron department, in the small agricultural region of the Grands Causses. The commune of Bozouls, sometimes called "the gateway to Haut Rouergue", is vast. Its surface area is around 7,000 hectares. It belongs, as a whole, to the Causse located north of Rodez. The town has the particularity of having been built around a natural canyon, dug by the Dourdou river and which is reminiscent of a fortified natural site. The habitat has developed on the edge of the steep walls and also occupies the long promontory where the Romanesque church of Sainte-Fauste stands. This site classified as a Sensitive Natural Area can indeed, thanks to its impressive abyss, the Trou de Bozouls, claim one of the very first places among the natural curiosities of the region.
