I had hoped someone would have explained he was lying over a subway grate to get the warm air rising through it. People are walking past because there is nothing to be done for him and others like him. I know, my son went the same way. With two hard-working parents and a brother who completed school and is in the military our son could have been whatever he wanted. He chose drugs. And don't blame the parents. We do the best for our children. They select the fork in the road they will take.

Sad. Very sad. The contrast (not as in photography) is outstanding - the whole street is his home... I like it the best!!!

Terrifiant !

Amazing that he is out in the open like that. Sad. Ironic that the people pictured in the back ground are walking away.

Excellent!

OMG, this is scary -- capturing a moment but a very sad moment. It tells us a lot about our society and I am sure I do not like the message.

Impressive picture. Great framing. The sleeping homeless man looks "camouflaged" in the zebra stripes, maybe that's why we often don't see him.

Michael, You have a talent for street photography. This one especially is quite jarring. I don't know what it says about the world or ourselves, but it is certainly unsettling. Diana

This is a morbidly impressive metaphor. Top marks.
