We visited Vietnam again after 24 years with some high school classmates. This time we only stayed in my hometown, Da Nang (Central) for ten days. The weather was relatively nice with moderate humidity at this time of the year. The temperature ranged from the high 70s to mid 80s. There was a warm couple of days (low 90s). Da Nang had transformed leaps and bounds since I left in the mid-70s and even when I first visited her in 2000. We took a guided tour to the north, Ninh Binh province, to visit couple caves, Phong Nha and Paradise. We stayed overnight there at a nice homestay-style resort villa, Karst Villas. Similar to Uber and Lyft means of transportation, Vietnam has a very efficient and affordable Grab, a Singapore app. The currency exchange rate was 25,500 VN Dong per US dollar.
