It was May 2002 that we first came to Paris. We returned 16 years later for another two-week vacation to this region of France and Barcelona, Spain. The highlight of the trip is the road trips thru out the beautiful lush-green countryside, visiting a few castles and several wineries in the Bourgogne region of the Centre Loire river. The first few days after arrival, we stayed with my high school friend from the early 70s' and her husband who lives in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, a small, quiet and charming suburban town southwest of Paris about 45-minute drive. The daily visit to the bakery for fresh baguette, croissant and brioche and to the seafood market are a blast for us from the U.S.
