It's been a long time since we visited Lake Tahoe in the winter. We lucked out with unusually dry winter season this year in order to be able to hike the Eagle Falls Lake trail this time of the year. The two-plus mile round trip trail is moderate with a decent elevation gain (~400 feet). Most of the trail is covered with snow with some icy patches here and there. Snow shoes with good traction are a-must to walk on snow and slippery icy patches. This trail is very popular and crowded most of the year except in the winter months...
