The Orient... The South China Sea corner of the world... The exotic, mystical destinations from the West... I had an unexpected opportunity in early February hopping around this part of the world. Since TH's was on an extended business trip in Penang, Malaysia for three weeks and she had a break in between, I joined her for a 12-day excursion. The flight was 18 hours long with one stopover in Taipei (2 hours). We stayed and explored this city/state for three nites before moving on to Singapore. The State of Penang is bursting with growth in recent years. High-risers are everywhere... The weather is rather mild and pleasant with low humidity this time of the year... The time difference is 16 hours ahead of us in the U.S.... The currency is Ringgit Malaysian ($3.50RM per US Dollar). The highlight of this leg of the trip is enjoying the live and very affordable seafood...
