We returned to this mountain range region of the high country since August 2020. At the 9000 feet elevation is the city of Mammoth Lakes, a year-round resort area, mostly popular for the winter ski sport. The summer months are for wilderness excursions (mountain biking, fishing, hiking, etc...). Temperature is in the 70s' to low-80s' in late June. It can be warm in late summer. We spent three days hiking in the search for hidden lakes, waterfalls and wildflowers. The last stop was the Bodie Ghost Town... the remnants of centuries past.
