Fall Is In the Air At Grand Mesa, CO - 9/28/19

Our second leg of the 12-day trip took us to the splendid high-country of Colorado, Grand Mesa, where foliage was at its peak for the five days we were there. We stayed at a cozy and charming Air BnB in Mesa, a 40-minute drive from Grand Junction. Fall sure was in the air at this time of the year. The foliage colors changed daily and it was more pronounced as the days went by. The howling chilly gusty wind danced with the cackling Aspen leaves created a mesmerizing sight and sound of nature at its best... We hiked a few miles at the Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park, visited a couple of vineyards (Mesa Park Vineyard, Bookhill) and a fruit orchard in Palisade. The highlight of the trip was the fishing at beautiful lakes (300-plus lakes) in this area. The native trout can be as big as 16 inches. The final score: I lost two. GP3 got two and lost two in one day. Had we have more time, we would have done even better. Fishing there was incredibly good (limit is four per day. For native trout, the limit is two and it must be at least 16 inches). It sure was paradise for outdoor folks...
