Gatxo is the next town to the west of Bilbao. We took the train from Bilbao for a day trip. Gatxo is a commercial port in this northern region of Spain, also in the Bay of Biscay. This town is smaller and somewhat upscaled as compared to Bilbao. The bridge over the town river has a hanging ferry transporting passengers and vehicles back and forth the river banks. Tourists can take the elevator to the top of the bridge and walk across it as well. The bridge architecture is common in the 19th century and can be found in other countries.
