It's one of the 400 parks in the National Park System. It was dedicated as NP in 1971. The park depicts the majesty of the Colorado Plateau, the Waterpocket Fold, petroglyphs (rock carving and painting) left by the Indian tribes (Hopi, Zuni and Paiute)in the 300 to 1300 Common Era or even earlier. It took about one hour and half driving from Moab to the park. We did two short hikes. The rock formations being eroded over hundred of million years ago and its colors are breathtaking to the naked eyes. It's Mother of Nature's masterpiece. ..
