I was visiting my family in June 2005 when I heard that the bandshell in Roxbury Park, Johnstown PA, was going to be demolished for a parking lot. It is the last WPA-built bandshell in the US. I went and snapped some photos before it was destroyed.
Fortunately, a group of citizens persuaded the City Council to give them a chance to restore it. You can help by making a donation (or volunteering if you live nearby). Go to www.roxburybandshell.com for more details.
