Kitchen fail

Day 342
Not every kitchen experiment can be a winner. When I was searching for something to make this weekend that was warm and tasty and soft that we could enjoy all weekend it was suggested I make a posole. I have never even heard of this Mexican soup, but I found a recipe that looked intriguing. So we went about making it, and for a while it seemed very promising. Then came the cloves. We both thought the amount the recipe called for was too much so we cut it in half. Sadly the reduced portion of cloves was still overpowering. It was all you could taste in the dish. A lot of salt and some cilantro and lemon cut the taste enough so that it was edible, but even then it wasn't that great. I also found that the hominy was too much in texture like beans, and well I hate beans. Next time we will try this without any clove in it, and probably trade out hominy for rice. It won't be traditional posole, but it will hopefully be more enjoyable.

And it looked so good.
