And this is same scene shot with the 75-300 at 195mm. Personally, despite the 20mm difference in focal length I can't see much difference in overall image quality between this and 70-200. Considering all the negative reviews I've read of the 75-300, I was nothing short of amazed at how closely this matches the L lens.

Admittedly, there is more to a lens than image quality, like build quality, speed of focus, etc, and this was taken from the center of the frame and no doubt the edge and corner quality of the L lens will be superior, but still, I was quite pleased with this result.
