Canada geese apparently unaware of the imminent death floating below them on the river.
Happily all flew on in safety, the hunter possibly inhibited by the presence of the owner
of the RV park standing beside me and me with a camera, obviously photographing the scene.

However, the geese have returned in such numbers in recent years that in many areas they
have become pests, but I still hate to see any living thing killed, even for its meat,
which seems rather pointless in this day and age of supermarkets.
Just my opinion. There are many who disagree with it.

This section of river once had abundant bird life, plentiful with ducks I'm told, now one
hardly sees more than an occasional heron, loon, duck, goose, or cormorant along here.
Hunters have essentially killed this part of the river AFAIC, and personally I'd much
rather see wild birds than a bunch of hunters, who are still trying to shoot things along
here, even though there's precious little left to kill but geese and they are smart enough
that most of even them avoid it. Sad.
