This gallery is a collection of images I captured during Spring 2007 at   Dick Young Forest Preserve in Kane County Illinois between 07-16 April , 2007.
These Pelicans have been stopping over and resting here for a number of years around Easter on their migration back North to Canada.
This year they have stayed a bit longer due to the cold front that dropped in while they were here, including Snow!
We live in the lower Sierra Nevada foothills. On Thursday June 19, 2008, approx 60-100 Pelicans flew over our home in Yuba County flying towards the Pacific Ocean. It was absolutely amazing to see!
