Note to parents:

I have become increasingly concerned about the dangers of Internet predators -- in particular, sites like MySpace.com. That's why I do not identify anyone by name on my photo galleries.

These photos are posted at the request of, and knowledge of, the Old Saybrook Youth & Family Services. I pay personally for the gallery space.

Nevertheless, I am more than willing to immediately remove the photos of anyone from this or any other gallery. It is sad that a long-running service to the community may have to come to a close, but if necessary to protect just one child from an unwanted approach from one pervert, I will gladly shut down the entire site. One possibility is to make these galleries available only to those with a password. Please use the "post a comment" opportunity at the bottom of this page to tell me how you feel about this, or email me at melsnyder@earthlink.net.

Once again, Old Saybrook demonstrated why it is one of the most extraordinary of American towns. People of all ages and skill levels appeared on two nights before a standing-room-only audience. Where it might not have been great art, it more than compensated with a degree of joy and honesty even professionals could envy. As some of you know, a great family tragedy prevented me from attending and photographing the second night, but I look forward to shooting the next and many more.

To download any of the images, do the following:

1. Click on the "thumbnail photo"

2. Click on the word "original" under the photo

3. When the photo fully loads, RIGHT click (click with the right mouse button) anywhere on the photo, and a "save as" mini-menu will pop up. Just specify where on your hard drive you want to save it.

You can then print it yourself, email it to an online service, to a walmart or CVS, or to many local photofinishers. The "originals" here are actually 50% smaller than the real orginals -- to get the originals for ordering big prints, please email me at melsnyder@earthlink.net, and specify the image number(s) you want.
