The Wonders of Bagan




Bagan, the heart of Burma.

After 39 years of isolation under military dictatorship, Myanmar (Burma) opened its door to the rest of the world.
Bagan is probably the most well known area of Myanmar. Its thousands of Pagodas are renowned all over the world.
The Burmese people in Bagan were much more aware of tourists than anywhere else in the country.
The best way to get to Bagan is by air. The roads surrounding this town are simply terrible.
My 30 minute flight to Bagan from Mandalay was countered by a 9 hour bus ride on my return.
