Mani is a small town in state of Yucatan, north of Ticul where the Maya rulers and their descendants were forced to surrender. Mani was also the place where Fray Diego of Landa ordered the burning and destruction of many Mayan documents and statues during the Franciscan movement to convert the Indians to Christianity.
