This is the information that I've been able to collect regarding primary schools
in the Playa del Carmen area...
Primary school is grades 1 to 6, Secondary 7-9, High School 10-12, then College. In Playa there is Ytsatil, Papalote, a school in Playacar and new school called English College, which cover all levels (except actual college) and all have some english curriculum. In Puerto Aventuras there is also a good bilingual school that a number Playa residents drive their kids to – 20 minutes south of Playa. Cancun has a number of bilingual schools as well but it is a bit of hike on a daily basis. These are all “private” schools with reasonable fees. The schools in Playa can be reached in about 15 minutes by car (gas driven model) from the centre of the village. This info was gathered from a number of local people but of course you would need to do your own research to ensure the right type of education is available.
