on the back porch photographing a spider that only works at night. I had a rather extensive relationship with its mother last fall and can see that this offspring is finally weaving webs to match mom's of last year. Bring up the photo NIGHTWORK and see what this busy Orb Weaver Spider builds EVERY NIGHT

UPDATE SUMMER OF 2005: I have NO Orb Weavers on the house this year. What a bummer...but I have found a few others in and around

I have two of these webs outside my kitchen window, each with a spider right smack in the middle - they look just like mom and dad above. Perhaps they are visiting here instead? I don't remember seeing so many of them here in so cal - I see them pretty much in every tree as I walk down the street.
