A woman rescued and raised what she believed to be a male gosling and named it Garfield. When moved to our facility at 2 years of age Garfield the Mute Swan was found to be an egg laying female. The imprinted swan then chose me for her mate. (Odd on several levels). This was changed over time when an immature male we took in became her loving mate Harpo. I speak fluent mute swan.
