This was a factory painted Intermountain hopper that I overweathered badly in the 90s. I've always hated the way it looked so I never ran it with my other hoppers. I finally decided I'd repaint it the way it should be and since I was doing the same scheme, I saw no reason to strip the paint. As an experiment, after I got the logo, name and reporting marks on, I decided to gently scrape the paint off the underlying data. For the most part it came out okay.
