Re-enactment of War of 1812. The minor battle fought between American troops and British troops at the mouth of the Nottawasaga river in 1814 resulted in the sinking and burning of the British supply ship HMS Nancy. Over the years the build-up of silt around the sunken hull resulted in the formation of Nancy Island. This island is used a campground for the re-enactors who gather annually to re-enact the battles.
