The following images were all from a great day in northwestern Mississippi. A seperate gallery will contain the images of the great finale of the day when the Short-eared Owls of Tunica County Mississippi put on a great show.
I have included a LOT of Sprague's Pipit shots. Several of them are distant shots to show how the bird will actually look when you first see it usually, and to show how well this bird blends into its surroundings (except when in a cotton field maybe...) The full-frame shots were all taken from my car, as on both Holly Grove and Buck Island Rds I was able to ease along as they fed without disturbing them.

Nice group of pics, Mike. That Canon 400mm f/5.6 is just great for a lens you can carry around or just stick out the car window. Almost makes me want to switch to Canon!
