The uniform 'frosty' look of a Thayer's is subtle, but gorgeous. Note the small, dark bill and moderately rounded head with dark eye-smudge. Seeing all of this on a bird, especially with those tertials that are just darker than the rest of the plumage, makes you REALLY want to see those wings.
