After an unplanned night sleeping in my car, I started my last morning of birding in the Venus/Lake Placid area of central Florida. This is where the Archibold Biological Station is, where Don Manning and I had seen Florida Scrub-Jays on our previous trip.

It was barely light when I drove by this Sandhill Crane sitting on the nest.
