One of David Roemer's nice shots of this great bird. Dave was there at mid-day and also had some harsh light and heat-waves to deal with, but obviously did much better with it. To my eye the bird was a tad bit more orangey than came through in Dave's shot, (may have just been the fading light) but not as much so as in my severely lightened photos. One other thing that does show up well in this shot is the primary externsion past the tertials. Little and Red-necked (especially)are longer-winged than our Western and Semi.
