Black-whiskered Vireo

Shell Mouds; Dauphin Island, AL

This was the star of the trip. Practically everyone there had better looks at this bird than they had ever had of this species. I had seen a few in FL a few years ago, but nothing like the looks we had at this bird.

The angle is fore-shortening the length of the bill, this bird had a real honker of a bill. Very impressive.
