Golden-crowned Sparrow

Covington, TN

Once again, the bird likes thick cover. It only came to the feeder while we there just before dark. Too late for me to have enough light to do anything.

The extensive black on the head, bicolored bill, and distinct lower eye-arcs are visible in this shot. A touch of the yellow crown can barely be seen.

This big boy is pretty impressive with the White-throats it hangs around with. This is one big sparrow.
