This 1st-winter Thayer's (one of two on the day) was the 1st of the goodies we picked up today; it was sleeping when we found it.
The frosty appearance and dark eye smudge are apparent, as are the brownish tertials and primaries. On the primaries, the pale crescents can just be made out as pale bands in this fuzzy photo. The little bill is still all-dark, typical for Thayer's.
